Sanford L. Watkins

December 3rd, 1945 – September 30th, 2024

Sanford L. "Sandy" Watkins, 78, of Macomb, IL, passed away at 11:30 pm on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Iowa City VA Medical Center in Iowa City, IA. He was born on December 3, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Leon and Margaret (Powell) Watkins. Sanford married Linda E. Fowler on August 3, 1972 in Indianapolis, IN. Linda preceded Sanford in death on August 17, 2015.

Also preceding Sanford in death are his parents and brother; Carl Watkins.

He is survived by his four children; Kevin Watkins of Vermont, IL, Nicholas (and Amanda) Watkins of Table Grove, IL, Heidi Watkins of Indianapolis, and Chris Watkins of Indianapolis, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sister; Alice (and Gary) Miller of Browning, IL.

Sanford served in the United States Marines.

He worked at the Vermont Foundry. He enjoyed fishing and bird watching.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No services have been planned at this time. Memorials may be made to Grand Prairie of Macomb.

let's not forget Richard Kern and also Edward Lee Kern were also his stepsons .their mother was Linda Watkins all the children in the family loved Sanford and for those who did not include all the children in the obituary are not really family at all .Rest in Peace Dad look after Mom and she will look after you God bless you in heaven you will always be missed love Richard and Eddie .
