Jack K. "Johnny" Bloomfield
May 17th, 1932 – January 12th, 2025
Jack Albert Bloomfield, 92, of Monument, Colorado, passed away on January 12, 2025. Born on May 17, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri and adopted by Otis and Grace Bloomfield as an infant. He was a devoted husband to Phyllis, for 70 years, and a fun, loving father to Mark and Patrick.
Jack loved sports and graduated from Astoria High School with 14 varsity letters to his name. He enlisted in the Air Force and was a gunner on the B-29 and B-50 Bombers during the Korean War. He attended Bradley University while working at Caterpillar in Peoria, Illinois. He was a successful businessman working as a Branch Manager for E.F. Hutton until he retired.
Jack and Phyllis were able to travel to many places and enjoyed their winters in Arizona. He was a church and community leader wherever he
lived; Illinois, Wisconsin, and Colorado. He will always be remembered for willing to lend a helping hand, his smile, laugh, warmth and martinis.
Jack is survived by sons Mark (Debra) Bloomfield and Patrick (Nancy) Bloomfield; grandchildren Brad Bloomfield, Paige (Tim) Aranyos, Amy
(Nathan) Young, Sean (Jayna) Bloomfield and 6 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis.
Jack will be greatly missed by family,
friends, and the staff at Jackson Creek Assisted Living.
There will be a graveside service Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1:00 pm in his childhood home of Astoria, Illinois at the Astoria Cemetery. Reverend Robert Greene will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the Astoria American legion Post #25. Memorial funds can be sent directly to The Astoria United Methodist Church, 305 W. Broadway, Astoria, IL 61501. Flowers can be sent to Shawgo Memorial Home 207 E. Broadway, IL 61501
