Linda B. Leib
June 25th, 1934 – January 22nd, 2025
Linda Bernice Leib, 90, of Milan, IL, died at Trinity Hospital in Rock Island, IL on Wednesday, January 22, 2024.
She was born in Beardstown, IL on June 25, 1934 to Lawson W. and Geneva E. (Snedeker) Lockard of Astoria, IL. She was a lifelong resident of Astoria before moving to Aurora, IL and later to Milan, IL to live with family in her later years.
Linda was a gradute of Astoria High School and briefly attended college at MacMurray in Jacksonville, IL. She married Charles R. Leib on August 12, 1953. They were devoted to each other for 52 years before his death.
While Linda particularly loved being a mom to her four children, she also found time to do bookkeeping (from home) for Modern Woodman Insurance Company and later worked many years as a school secretary at the Astoria Junior High and Senior High School. She was beloved by generations of students who noted her kind graciousness. Linda often displayed a quiet gentleness in attending to others and readily shared the basis of her hopefulness, her faith in Christ. She was an active church participant and was very generous in her giving, both with her time and resources.
Linda loved gardening when she was able, and later very much enjoyed working puzzles, eating out with family and friends and reading, though her favorite activity was spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie, as well as her brothers, William "Bill" Lockard of Canton, IL and Don Ring of Pasadena, CA.
Linda is survived by her four children; Pat and Jim Webb of Enterprise, AL, Chuck and Becky Leib of Milan, IL, John and Susan Leib of Belleville, IL, and Tom and Becky Leib of Aurora, IL. Also surviving are her eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren with one more on the way and by her nephew and nieces and families.
Services for Linda will be held on Friday, January 31st at 11:00 am at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Ben Murray will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Astoria Cemetery. Memorials in Linda's memory may be given to Samaritan's Purse or Jews For Jesus.

Oh I loved Linda and her husband.
I remember them riding their bikes in the evening and so sweet people, I never met their kids but I know they had the best parents.
They went to the grace bible Church for a long time.
And Linda was so kind hearted, and we'd have woman's fellowship at church and she'd always be their with so much kindness and care, doing quilts or projects for people
that lost everything in a fire.
She was so much an out standing friend and women in our church.
I'll sure miss her.
But I believe she's home in heaven now with her husband, and they are at peace and praising the LORD.
Oh how I pray all their children and grandchildren and great are saved and truly living for the LORD amen.
