Jessica V. Cox, 44, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 6:19 am on Friday, April 18, 2025 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was born on May 20, 1980, the daughter of James and Robin (Clemens) Sawyer.

She is survived by her daughter, Paige Large, son; Tanner Sutterfield; grandchildren; Breanna Large, Aries Gibbs and Riley Sawyer, mother; Robin Popplewell, sister; Ashley Sawyer, two nieces, Addison Palmer and Arianna Sawyer, two nephews; Draydin Wrobleski and Kolton Palmer, aunt; Pat Alford, and uncle; Lee Clemens.

She is preceded by her step-father; Russell G. Popplewell, grandparents; Earl “Red” and Muriel “Cookie” Clemens, aunt and uncle; Gladys and Bob Blickenstaff, and uncle Timothy Clemens.

Jessica was a CNA for several years. She loved fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No services have been planned at this time.

I am so sorry for your loss. I hadn't seen Jessie in a long time but i have so so many memories with her. We were good friends growing up. Prayers to her entire family.
