Ronald E. Lafary

April 5th, 1935 – August 9th, 2025

Ronald Everett Lafary, 90, of Table Grove, IL, passed away at 8:37 am on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at his home. He was born on April 5, 1935 in Fulton County, IL, the son of Henry S. and T. June (Baldwin) Lafary. Both Henry and June preceded Ronald in death.

He is survived by his two sisters, Connie Hillyer and Sharon McCamant, both of Table Grove, brother; Larry (and Marilyn) Lafary of Marquette Heights, IL, five nephews; Gene (and Sherrill) Hillyer of Table Grove, Jeff (and Carol) Hillyer of Table Grove, Mark (and Lee) Hillyer of Hannibal, MO, Larry (and Bonnie) Lafary Jr. of Valley Head, WV, and William (and Tina) McCamant of Macomb, IL, two nieces; Kathy Pettet of Peoria, IL and Teresa Deane McCamant of Table Grove, great-nieces and nephews; Stacey, Michael, Christy, Adam, Amanda, Jacob, Genna, Ashley, Trinity, Erica and Sterling, and his caretaker, Vicky Vaughn.

Ronald served in the United States Army as a MP for two years. He was stationed at Ft Sheridan by Chicago, which allowed him to come home some weekends and most holidays.

He farmed alongside his father until his father’s passing. He then went on to work at Farm King in Macomb for several years. He spent his remaining years at his home on the farm with his caretaker, Vicky, by his side.

Ronald will be remembered as a good son, brother, and uncle. He will be missed by all those who loved him.

Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Harris Cemetery in Table Grove, IL. Memorials may be made to the Table Grove Fire & Rescue Squad.
