Larry J. Cunningham

October 18th, 1947 – September 12th, 2025

Larry J. Cunningham, 77, of Vermont, IL, passed away at 12:57 am on Friday, September 12, 2025 at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, IL. He was born on October 18, 1947 in Macomb, IL, the son of LeRoy and Arizona (Keith) Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his parents. Larry married Rita Stambaugh on August 26, 1966 in Macomb, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his two daughters, Lisa (and Scott) Fawcett of Princeton, IL and Lora (and Scott) Adcock of Plymouth, IL, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and his sister; Connie Propst of Hot Springs, AR.

Larry served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran.

He worked at International Harvester in Canton, IL and Central Laborer’s of Illinois Local 165 of Peoria, IL.

Larry was a member of the Astoria American Legion Post 25 and the VFW Post 1921 in Macomb. He enjoyed going camping, hunting, fishing, being with family and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 19, 2025 in the Astoria Cemetery. Pastor Matt Haberman and Bob Spencer will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Astoria American Legion Post 25 or the Bader Christian Church.
