Dixie L. Fenner

October 24th, 1952 – September 17th, 2025

Dixie Fenner, 72, of Colchester, IL, passed away at 10:30 pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at her home. She was born on October 24, 1952, the daughter of Richard and Hazel (Robertson) Danner.

Dixie is preceded in death by her parents and one brother; Donald Danner.

She is survived by her four children; Troy (and Renee) Engle of Colchester, Tracy Engle of Bushnell, IL, Marty Shanks of Colchester and Larry Fenner of Bushnell, six grandchildren; Tyler, Adriana, Alisha, Kevin, Trevor and Karston, three great-grandchildren; Amelia, Aiden and Alex, two brothers; Rick (and Ollie) Danner and Marty (and Wendy) Danner, and one sister; Zelma (and David) Shughart.

Dixie worked in home health care for several years. She was also a talented cook and worked as a cook for several different places, including schools, WIU and The Elms.

Dixie enjoyed BINGO, fishing, two step dancing, card games and several simple things. She loved her family and grandchildren. The holidays were a special time for Dixie because she loved family gatherings, easter egg hunts and cookouts. She loved animals, especially horses. She also raised shih tzu’s and yorkshire terrier’s.

Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor David Keithley will be officiating. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in the Ipava Cemetery in Ipava, IL. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
