Doris J. Derry

April 26th, 1930 – November 3rd, 2025

Doris J. Derry, 95, of El Paso, IL, formerly of Macomb and Ipava, IL, passed away at 10:31 pm on Monday, November 3, 2025 at the Arc of El Paso. She was born on April 26, 1930 in Ipava, the
daughter of John and Mary (Smith) Lalicker. Doris married Kenneth E. Derry on August 14, 1949 in Ipava, IL. He proceeded her in death on May 15th, 2018.

Surviving are her three sons, John (and Jane) Derry of Denton, TX, James (and Sandy) Derry of
Bloomington, IL and Mark (and Cindy) Derry of Lisle, IL, daughter, Joann Prunty of Glen Ellyn, IL, 11 grandchildren; Jason (and Alicia) Derry, Jennifer (and Nelson) Arblaster, Brian (and Terri)
Prunty, Brad (and Anne) Prunty, Breanne (and Andrew) Holdorf, Candice (and Joe) Logsdon,
Christopher (and Ashley) Derry, Brandon Derry, Andrew (and Melanie) Derry, Katie Derry, and
Anna Derry, 23 great-grandchildren and her sister Linda Danner.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tom Prunty her sister, Betty Windsor and her brother, Delbert Lalicker

Doris was a cook at Ipava Grade School before working at Western Illinois University as a Child
Care Assistant. She then worked at the Western Illinois University library in the cataloging area, retiring in 1998.

Doris was a member of the Berean Christian Church in Ipava, Maple Avenue Christian Church in
Macomb, and Eastview Christian Church in Bloomington, IL.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Shawgo Memorial Home in
Astoria, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Brad Prunty will be
officiating. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in the Ipava Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Berean Christian Church in Ipava, IL or Western Illinois University Campus Students for Christ and can be sent to Shawgo Memorial Home at PO Box 525, Astoria, IL 61501.
