Elizabeth J. Price

November 18th, 1947 – February 6th, 2026

Elizabeth J. Price, 78, of Boulder, CO. formerly of Astoria, IL. passed away at 10 pm on Friday February 6, 2026 at Morning Star Assisted Living facility in Boulder, CO. She was born on November 18, 1947 in Colorado Springs, CO, the daughter of Harvey and Kathryn (Silsby) Johnson. She married Rodney Price on October 19, 1974 in Champaign, IL. Rod and both of her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving are her two children, Brian (Jennifer) Price of Morton, IL, Alison (Steve) Gold of Boulder, CO, four grandchildren, Jasa Price, Carson Price, Olivia Gold, and Reese Gold, one sister Carol (Don) Bolish of Oxnard, CA., one brother Chuck (Gigi) Johnson of Champaign, IL. a sister-in-law Rhonda (Mike) Barfield of St. Charles, Mo. Along with several nieces and nephews.

Beth was a graduate of Western Illinois University, earning a Bachelors Degree in Education. She and Rod were third generation owners of Price Oil Company in Astoria for over 30 years. She also worked at Astoria High School for 10 years.

Beth was an active member in several area churches, with her most recent membership at Grace Church in Morton, IL. Beth enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking, helping with the Girl Scouts as a leader, and was an avid reader. She expressed her love of reading by volunteering at the Astoria Public Library for several years. Her most treasured memories involved spending time with her family especially her four grandchildren and the love of her life, Rod. Together they were always by each other’s side for over 49 years of love and marriage.

A visitation will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 28, 2026 with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 pm. Both will be held at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Ray Artrip will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Astoria Public Library or The Shelf Food Pantry in Astoria.

I’m so very sorry to hear of Beth’s passing. She and Rod were great friends to mom and dad and they were incredibly kind. I enjoyed working for them for a short time while in college (just a “few” years ago). Sending my deepest condolences, love, hugs, and prayers to Brian, Allison, and your families.
