Evelyn L. Savage

March 29th, 1934 – June 26th, 2026

Evelyn L. Savage, 92, of Brownsville, TX, formerly of Table Grove, IL, passed away on June 26, 2026 at her home. She was born on March 29, 1934 in Yates City, IL, the daughter of Herman and Florice (Elliott) Bowhay. Evelyn married Dale Savage on September 16, 1950. Dale preceded Evelyn in death on June 29, 2008.

Also preceding her in death are three sons; Mike, Rick and Jack Savage, and one grandson; Eric Savage.

She is survived by three sons; Bob (and Nancy) Savage of Table Grove, Terry Savage of Kingman, IN and Kenny (and Staci) Savage of Longview, TX, two daughters; Kathie Savage of Vermont, IL, and Crissy (and David) Ramos of Brownsville, TX, two daughter-in-laws; Debbie Savage of St. Cloud, MN and Cris Savage of Table Grove, IL, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

With eight children, Evelyn stayed busy as a housewife. Evelyn, along with her husband Dale, moved to Brownsville, TX in 1981 where they managed Crooked Tree Campground for 24 years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting and gardening.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, August 14, 2026 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Mike Ulmer will officiate. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 5 to 7 pm at Shawgo Memorial Home. Interment will be in the Harris Cemetery in Table Grove. There will be a fish fry at the Table Grove Park after the service for anyone who would like to come eat and visit with family. Memorials may be made to the Table Grove Fire Department or Truckers Final Mile.
