Emma Jane Edwards

Emma Jane Edwards, age 80 of Jacksonville, Illinois, passed away ay 10:27 am on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at The Grove Health and Rehab Center in Jacksonville. She was born on April 2, 1946, the daughter of Chester V. and Emily Mae (Gunter) Huntington. She married Kenneth Lee “Festus” Edwards on August 31, 1973 in Beardstown, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2006.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Daniel Edwards, sister Judy Huntington and brother Chester E. Huntington.

Emma is survived by one son Kenny Lee Edwards, one daughter Donna Boyd, one brother Robert Gunter and six sisters; Lois Chambers, Amy Chambers, Dixie Chambers, Harriet Vilardo, Mary (Tim) Hackett and Linda Shifflett.

She will be interred by her husband Festus in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Astoria, Illinois. Shawgo Memorial Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
